Please present the LMF Group's Wood activity
The wood sector has been a part of the LMF Group since 2013, following Christophe's acquisition of a Plysorol site, renamed Leroy Industry, which has become a leader in poplar peeling. This industrial expertise was supplemented in 2017 by the acquisition of 3 complementary businesses: beech peeling with BRUGERE, moulded plywood with REGNIER and custom wood design with CARDINEAU, who produces multi-layered curved products.
LMF is now an important player in the wood industry, with over 250 employees, and specializes in the peeling of several kinds of wood, which is used to produce veneer and flat plywood by BRUGERE, moulded plywood seats by REGNIER, and furniture, industrial parts and interior accessories such as decorative partitions made from high-quality multi-layered, moulded wood by CARDINEAU.
Thanks to our expertise in primary and secondary wood processing, our teams offer comprehensive assistance, from design to 100% French production.
Working with a noble material such as wood has naturally led us to be strongly committed to a development model that respects forests and their ecosystems. We guarantee that all of the wood we use is sourced using a sustainable forest management approach. We are PEFC and FSC certified.
What are the different products offered?
- BRUGERE is the European leader in peeled veneer, and our factory can process 40,000m3 logs per year. From beech and poplar peeled veneer to plywood panels made from different types of wood, we have been processing hardwoods from the Burgundy, Franche Comté and Grand Est regions since 1928.
- REGNIER specializes in moulded plywood for seating. Our team combines historic expertise with a factory with a production capacity of 2 million pieces per year. Our mould catalogue contains over 150 hull and seat models, and we are able to carry out several products simultaneously, from design to production, in strict compliance with our customers' specifications.
- CARDINEAU produces complex machined parts made from moulded plywood and laminated wood. Our advanced technology enables us to create very large curves, and our catalogue of over 400 moulds allows us to form an infinite number of shapes. In direct collaboration with our customers, the engineers in our design office advise and create unfinished, semi-finished or finished curved pieces. We can assist with all kinds of products: from interior furnishings to outdoor street furniture, as well as partitions or curved pieces for doors, drawers, cases for electronic parts or musical instruments. We like to say, "With moulded wood, nothing is impossible."
What is your relationship with wood as a material?
Wood is probably one of the oldest materials, but it's also one of the most promising materials ever discovered by man!
It is the only construction material that is a renewable resource. As it is sourced from forests, we have a responsibility to take care of them.
For our group, choosing wood was a responsible choice. Fully recyclable and biodegradable, wood does not generate any harmful impacts, but instead, it absorbs CO2! In our factories, 100% of wood is recycled. Our wood is traceable throughout its life cycle, and we find the PEFC and FSC labels to be highly meaningful, as we manage our forests sustainably. Our commitment also has a strong social dimension.
Working with a living material with a long history, crafted by the hands of an artisan, requires the material to be respected. "Respect and humility" are the two words that reflect the spirit of our factories. All of our teams are united and share these strong convictions, which are central to the growth of our activity.
