Director General of Valentin Thièrion
Please present your activity ?
VALENTIN THIERION's activity is based on two major focuses: wine production machines and cutting edge robotics for industry.
VALENTIN is specialized in the manufacture of machines for the wine sector and the complex disgorging processes used to produce sparkling wines (champagne, crémant, blanquette, clairette, etc.).
THIERION is more of a generalist, producing specialized machines or robotic solutions that are custom-designed to meet the needs of different industrial sectors: agri-food, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics. Our engineers assess the best mechanical and robotic options to improve productivity, personal safety and the safety of the products handled.
49% of our turnover is generated by export.
Why do you offer such a wide range of products?
Before the acquisition of UTch (now VALENTIN THIERION), the company exclusively produced VITIVINI machines. As competitors, mainly in Italy, began appearing, we had to bounce back and offer new products and services. Today, thanks to the boost provided by our president, following the addition of entities that complement our structure and our belonging to the Manufacturers Février group, we are developing new products, such as the AMBRE light fixtures, to illuminate wine cellars while protecting the final product from light. This has been made possible by the work carried out in collaboration with our LED lighting specialist, THOMAS WATT LIGHTING PRO, and the highly specialized skills of its design office
Other products in this market segment are currently being finalized. We have recently developed a wine press loading solution: design, manufacture, assembly and installation in 10 weeks on the site of our customer Champagne Henri GIRAUD in Aÿ, a true success for our after-sales service and production teams. We are also working on various developments: a robotic site for bottle unmoulding, and a bottle neck freezing ecosystem that we have patented for champagne production.
Are you innovating to create a new generation of factories?
Absolutely, we are working on a connected systems environment that can aggregate all kinds of data and better optimize the operation of the industrial site. We are also developing innovative systems of connected glasses that will provide additional value to the maintenance contract we now offer for lines and machines of a certain size. Nevertheless, setting up a new generation of industry is highly complex and therefore takes time, as it requires transformation both internally and for our customers. We are aware of the stakes and we are working as a team to find the right equation and adapt our actions to meet this challenge.
